How do I login to my account?

To login to your account please follow these instructions:
1) Please go to login.php
2) Locate the "Members Login" box
3) Enter your username (email address) and password and click on the submit button to enter the member's area.

How can I change or recover my password?

Changing your password is easy with the following steps:
To change your password you must first log into your designated member's area. Once you have done this please click the "My Account" tab at the top of the screen. A new screen will appear and you may update your password by clicking on the "Change Password" link.

What type of data is available?

Once you have gained access to the member's area of Records Authority, your membership fee will be applied towards a one year non-reoccurring subscription to the following searches: Basic Arrest/Warrant Search, Basic Background Check, Preliminary State Criminal Records Search, Basic Sex Offender Search, People Search by Name, People Search by Address, Reverse Landline Phone search, Reverse IP Search, Birth Records Search, Marriage/Divorce Records Search, Death Records Search, Inmate Search, Relative Search, Neighborhood Check, and Business Name Search. Please note that the above mentioned searches may change without notice.

How can I use this data?

Data provided through Records Authority is intended for personal use only, and is not to be used for commercial or business purposes. You may not access, reproduce, duplicate, sell, resell, transfer, or exploit any data for any commercial purposes.

You may not use the data obtained through Records Authority for any unlawful purpose. Examples of unlawful purposes include, but are not limited to: stalking or harassing any individual; requesting information under false pretenses; determining the credit worthiness or eligibility of any individual; employment screening; licensing eligibility and any other purpose covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. sec. 1681 et seq., ("FCRA").

Why do my search results display outdated or wrong information?

Records Authority provides access to data compiled and maintained by third parties. Records Authority cannot create, review, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, appropriateness, or sufficiency of such data. Records Authority is not necessarily affiliated with, endorsed by, or compensated by these third parties.

NOTE: Records Authority is not a "consumer reporting agency" as defined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq., as amended, and the information in our databases has not been collected in whole or in part for the purpose of furnishing "consumer reports," as defined in the FCRA. As a public information broker Records Authority are prohibited by law from releasing non-public information such as SSN Numbers/Records or Credit Reports. Records Authority is not a "consumer reporting agency" as defined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), 15 U.S.C. 1681 et seq., as amended, and the information in our databases has not been collected in whole or in part for the purpose of furnishing "consumer reports," as defined in the FCRA.

Do you mail hard copies of my reports?

No. All search results are displayed electronically on your screen after which you can either print or download the reports.

Do you provide Birth Certificates?

Records Authority cannot provide, send or issue birth certificates. Our Birth Records Search may include the following information: Full Name, Birth City, Birth State and Full Date of Birth.

Do you provide Marriage Certificates?

Records Authority cannot provide, send or issue marriage certificates. Our Marriage Records Search may include the following information: Bride's Name and Age, Groom's Name and Age, Marriage Date, County & State of Filing and Filing Number.

Do you provide Death Certificates?

Records Authority cannot provide, send or issue marriage certificates. Our Death Records Search may include the following information: Full Name, Date of Birth, Date of Death and City and Sate of Death.

Do you provide Divorce Decrees?

Records Authority cannot provide, send or issue divorce decrees. Our Divorce Records Search results may include the following information: Respondent's Name, Petitioner's Name, Date of Filing, State of Filing and Filing Number.

How do I use your service?

If you are having difficulties in using our service please try the following:

Please go to login.php and use your username and password to login to your designated member's area.

Select the search from the search menu found on the left side of the page and fill in the required information. Please do not type more than one word in each search box. When you are finished, click the "Search" button.

You can then view the results by clicking the access links or following the instructions on the page. Your search results should appear within a few short seconds after search completion.

What does my Records Authority membership include?

After you make a purchase, you will gain access to our member's area. The member's area combines the power of over 20 different unlimited use searches, as well as additional search tools and resources to help you in your investigation process.

What is InteliGator?

Access to certain search reports may require you to upgrade to Premium Search Access. In addition, some search details not found in our database may be available within third party data sources that are available to Premium Search Access account holders. Premium Search Access membership upgrades are offered by InteliGator.com, a partner company. When upgrading to Premium Search Access service, you will receive a 3-day trial. If you decide to cancel on or before the expiration of the trial period, you will only be charged for the trial period. Otherwise, you will be charged a recurring monthly fee until you cancel, which you can do at any time. To cancel your first scheduled recurring charge for Premium Search Access, you must contact InteliGator.com within the 3-day trial period by sending an email to cancelations@inteligator.com Please do not contact Records Authority directly with any Premium Search Access cancellation request.

Why is there an extra charge for Premium Reports?

Premium Reports are not included in your membership fee and additional fees will apply. Fees paid per Premium Report will be used to access third party data sources that may offer information that is not available within the Records Authority member's area. As with any report, data collected and offered within each report will vary based on availability.

How do I interpret the criminal search results?

Our Criminal Report may display an individual's criminal records or indicate a lack of relevant results for the specified search criteria.

While our Criminal Report can provide useful information, please use caution in interpreting the results of any criminal background search. A positive match does not guarantee the nature or even existence of an individual's criminal record. For assistance in interpreting criminal records please contact a competent legal professional.

In which U.S. states can I search criminal records?

Some states do not permit access to certain types of criminal records, or may restrict the types of information that can be retrieved by a criminal search. As a result, not all searches will return reports or records. Please refer to our Coverage Areas Page for a state by state guide to available records.

Will I receive a purchase confirmation email?

Yes. You will receive an email from Clickbank.com, our authorized payment processor. This email will contain your purchase details. If you do not receave your ClickBank order receipt email in your inbox shortly after purchase please check your bulk/spam folder.

What is my order number?

Clickbank.com is a secure and reliable company which processes all of our payments. Each time you submit your payment to Clickbank.com you will receive an email from them containing your order number. You can retrieve your order number by simply referring back to the email from Clickbank.com or by going to the "My Account" page in the member's area. The order number will be displayed in the "My Orders" section.

Will I be re-billed?

No. You paid a one-time non-recurring fee for access to one year of Records Authority searches. If you choose to upgrade to Inteligator.com you will have a 3-day trial for $4.95. If you decide to cancel you will only be charged $4.95. Otherwise you will be charged a fee per month until you cancel, which you can do at any time. To cancel your first reoccurring charge you must contact InteliGator.com (cancellations@inteligator.com) within the 3 day trial period. Please send all cancelation requests to InteliGator.com directly. Records Authority cannot process any requests for InteliGator.com.

What type of information do you collect?

Personal Information
We collect personal information from you when you: (1) register on the site; (2) subscribe to one of our mailing lists; (3) contact us; and (4) order products and services. The information we collect includes your name, address, email address and telephone number. We also store your searches for 60 days, after which time we delete them.
We do not collect or store any customer payment/billing information. Our billing service Provider (ClickBank) facilitates all of our billing and is responsible for handling all billing related issues. Clickbank securely collects customer personal payment information upon purchase and does not share that information with us.

Non-Personal Information
As part of the standard operation of the Site, we may collect certain non-personal information from you, including but not limited to your browser type, operating system, IP address and the domain name from which you accessed the Site. In addition, we may collect information about your browsing behavior, such as the date and time you visit the Site, the areas or pages of the Site that you visit, the amount of time you spend viewing the Site, the number of times you return to the Site, your search history and other click-stream data.

Will the person be notified when I search for them?

Absolutely not. Your searches are one hundred percent confidential. Your search subject will never be notified of your research.

Why does the data obtained from the Preliminary Search sometimes vary from the data obtained in the member's area?

The preliminary search provides results to databases that simply verify that your search subject exists in the United States. This information is for your reference only. Results obtained from the preliminary search may not match the search results obtained in the Records Authority member's area.

Why can't I find any information?

If you are having trouble finding someone, be sure you check all possible searches. Your membership includes access to all Records Authority searches for one year. Use as many searches as possible to find the most information available within our member's area. For additional help please contact one of our professional customer service representatives.
